Resultados Prueba de Concepto 2015
El viernes 22 de abril de 2016 se presentaron los resultados de los dos proyectos que obtuvieron el pasado año 2015 la ayuda del programa del INIT Prueba de Concepto. Los encargados de realizar las presentaciones fueron: - Por el proyecto SSD - Small and Smart Devices for Human Beings Activity Monitoring: Oscar Belmonte y Raúl Montoliu - Por el proyecto AMBIENTES - PERSONALIZACIÓN DE AMBIENTES BASADO EN IMÁGENES: Inmaculada Remolar     Al evento acudieron miembros del INIT de varias secciones e integrantes de GAMELAB. En el acto se expusieron las claves de los proyectos y se presentaron unas demos que pusieron de relieve las posibilidades de estos dos proyectos.

Resolución Prueba de Concepto 2016
El pasado viernes  22 de abril se comunicaron el resultado de las ayudas de la convocatoria 2016 "Prueba de Concepto" que cada año concede el INIT. Como criterios principales para la selección de los dos proyectos a los que se les ha concedido la ayuda se han utilizado los siguientes: - La posibilidad de proyección futura del proyecto basándose en la información de la memoria. - La colaboración entre diferentes secciones del Instituto.

Atrialab
El Instituto se ha unido a la plataforma Atrialab (http://atrialab.es/), una plataforma en desarrollo, cuyo objetivo es facilitar a las empresas la contratación de servicios en laboratorios de investigación públicos y facilitar a los laboratorios la posibilidad de ofrecer servicios técnicos y de consultoría de forma ágil y efectiva, aumentando la visibilidad y los contactos con empresas, obteniendo así ingresos en forma de financiación privada (artículo 83 de la LOU) y pudiendo dar un mayor aprovechamiento al equipamiento del laboratorio.

ERMES (An Earth obseRvation Model based RicE information Service)
ERMES (An Earth obseRvation Model based RicE information Service) aims to develop a prototype of downstream service dedicated to rice sector based on assimilation of EO and in situ data within crop yield modelling. The objective of this service, targeted to European needs, is to: contribute to the regional authorities in the implementation of agro-environmental policies; support farming activities for sustainable management practices; provide independent reliable information to the agro-business sector. The long term goal is to extend and adapt the service to Asian and African markets, in order to boost European competitiveness and contribute to a sustainable development. On the base of previous experience of the consortium partners, two services are foreseen: Regional Rice Service (RRS) to provide to public authorities a customized agro-monitoring system devoted to regional yield estimates and risk/damage alarming. Digital maps and bulletin will be disseminated via web through INSPIRE compliant geo-portal; Local Rice Service (LRS) to provide to the private sector (farmers and agro-services and insurance companies) high level information on yield variability, risk alert and crop damage assessment at farm scale. Advanced smart technologies will be used to receive in-situ observations from the user, to be ingested in crop model, and to disseminate customized information to them.

Advanced photonic devices for imaging and processing of materials (Prometeo 2012)
The integration of systems for measurement and compensation of optical aberrations in real time by implementing adaptive systems of closed control based on spatial light modulators with high performance and low cost as well as diffractive optical elements of specific purpose are the differentiating elements of this project. Moreover, the special properties present in the radiation coming from a femtosecond laser source to our devices confer unique properties on a variety of applications which require a response time-resolved.

Science and Applications of Ultrafast Ultraintense Lasers SAUUL (Consolider-Ingenio 2010)
  The main goal of SAUUL project is to advance the Science and Applications of Ultrafast and Ultra-intense Lasers (SAUUL) in Spain, thereby positioning our country amongst the ten most technologically advanced countries in the world in this area of photonics. This project is funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación with a budget of 4.500.000€.

Technologies based on auto-stereoscopic 3D visualization for graphical models and real scenes
The auto-stereoscopy is going to be the next technological advance in graphical display, allowing three-dimensional visualization of a natural and unobtrusive way. In this context, light fields are part of a methodology that is becoming one of the most viable techniques to efficiently deliver the necessary views to an auto-steresocopy device. In this sense, the light fields to store the radiance of a scene are an alternative to traditional rendering, which is merging strongly in the context of the autostereoscopic display.

Over the last few years, Multimodal human Interaction (MI) has become an important field of increasing attention. Advanced man-machine interfaces with high cognitive capabilities are a hot research topic that aims at solving challenging application problems in the information technology society. The outstanding need for the development of interactive systems with cognitive capabilities is clearly reflected, for instance, in the Spanish Research Programme for Information Technologies and in the Information and Communication Technologies work Programme of the European Union,where these developments are included as one of the priority research challenges for short and middle term research in information systems.
