Congratulations to the five people who have been elected to the new Board of Directors of the European Optical Society (EOS) 2024.
Among those elected is Gladys Mínguez-Vega, a researcher in the GROC-UJI #photonics research group at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, who is also part of the Institute for New Imaging Technologies (INIT).
The aim of EOS is to contribute to the progress of optics and photonics and to promote their applications at European and international level. It is a non-profit society and an umbrella organisation for all national optical societies in Europe. One of its missions is to bring together and foster the cooperation of all those interested in optics, optoelectronics and related scientific fields, in order to make practical use of research results and to support the industrial exploitation of optics.
Professor Mínguez-Vega is co-director of the Photonics research group “GROC-UJI”. Her lines of research include ultrafast optics and the synthesis of nanomaterials through lasers, with the aim of applying them to the fields of health and energy. Mínguez-Vega believes that research and progress in optics can be very positive for the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of the United Nations.
She is a great professional, committed to dissemination and being aware that it is important that this reaches society, her main social network is “X”, you can find her as @MinguezVega.
