
Pedro Company
Born in 1959 in Xàtiva, province of Valencia (Spain). Industrial Engineer by the Polytechnical University of Valencia (UPV) from 1985, and doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, by the same university in 1989. It entered like professor in charge of course of Graphic Expression in Engineering in the UPV in 1985, where he was a tenured professor from 1990 to 1994. He moved in 1994 to the Universitat Jaume I (UJI). Since 1996 he has been Professor of Graphic Expression in Engineering at the UJI, where he has also been director of the Department of Technology from 1995 to 2005.
He teaches Graphic Expression in Engineering mainly in Industrial Engineering, but also in Mechanical Engineering, and Engineering in Industrial Design. He is the author of university texts for “Geometric Design”, “Standard Drawing”, “Industrial Drawing” and “Computer Aided Design”.
Her areas of interest in research focus on computer-aided design, computer graphics, and sketch-based modeling, with more than 50 published articles and research papers related to these areas. He has also been interested in Emotional Design and Collaborative Product Engineering. He is currently involved in the development and application of a new interface for modeling based on sketches (see http://www.regeo.uji.es/), as well as in the development of methods and tools for the quality assurance of CAD models.
