Gerontechnology, a combination of the words gerontology and technology, is an interdisciplinary academic and professional research field whose objective is the adaptation and development of products, services and environments to the needs of the elderly for the improvement of their life functions daily.
From INIT, the services offered are: Development of applications based on Machine Learning techniques to detect changes in the daily behavior of older people.
Development of applications for mobile devices for indoor location, which allow the location of the elderly in a non-intrusive way and the deployment of sensorization systems in intelligent environments that are capable of detecting and labeling daily activities.
