
Last Friday, September 24th, several of the sections that make up the Institute participated in the Mediterranean Night of the Researchers, an event organized by the MEDNIGHT project, which has been promoted and financed by the European Commission through the Marie Sklodowska actions -Curie (Grant Agreement No. 101036107) from the Horizon 2020 program.
The activities of the Universitat Jaume I for MEDNIGHT showed science through stimulating activities with the purpose of generating a deep interest in research through games, playful demonstrations, practical experiments, … The example of the participating researchers, with brilliant and engaging scientific paths will help increase knowledge about science and ultimately foster scientific vocations. In addition, the examples and particular applications of the research projects exposed in the MEDNIGHT activities showed us the concrete benefits that research brings to society.
Groups such as CEVI were present at the event, which showed its latest developments in augmented reality and virtual reality systems, which increasingly have more functionalities within the business fabric, GEOTEC with its SUCRE program, oriented to the ecosystem for computational education and the promotion of STEM disciplines, and finally the GIANT group, opted for its artificial intelligence program aimed at people’s health and well-being.
During the afternoon it was possible to enjoy scientific demonstrations, talks by women researchers, collaborative games, etc.
