The Visual Engineering section leads the SPANISH NETWORK OF AUTOMATIC LEARNING AND ARTIFICIAL VISION FOR THE ANALYSIS OF PEOPLE AND ROBOTIC PERCEPTION

The main objective of this network is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience, strengthen and, therefore, increase the visibility at national and international level of the Spanish scientific community of machine vision and machine learning that works in the analysis of human behavior.

Detecting people, following their bodies, understanding their gestures and actions are some examples of problems related to the visual analysis of people and their behavior in images and videos. Within Machine Vision there are Spanish groups of high scientific quality specialized in human vision analysis and robotic vision, but they generally work in isolation despite the fact that they largely share technical and / or problematic measures. As a consequence, opportunities are lost to improve the respective works and to explore new ideas that naturally arose within a forum that facilitates and promotes mutual exchange. In this sense, this network is proposed, whose main objectives are presented as follows:

Promote, facilitate and stimulate collaboration and sustained exchange between the different participating groups, to unify and complement efforts in common lines of work.
Promote contracts between the Spanish groups in this network and other groups and / or equivalent or related networks in the European sphere, as well as in different sectors of the economic-social sphere (industries and services) to maximize national and transnational impact.
